We first observed the specimen in its natural habitat: a wine bar's Instagram feed, circa 2019, when algorithm-drunk sommeliers began cross-breeding craft culture with cryptozoology. The result was this particular breed of sophisticated nonsense — a raccoon sommelier presiding over what can only be described as the most pretentious vineyard in the Pacific Northwest.

The design presents itself as a legitimate French wine label, complete with ornate borders and appellation controlée credentials, as if Bordeaux had expanded its terroir to include the mossy forests where Bigfoot allegedly stomps grapes. It's the kind of thing that spawns entire comment threads about whether cryptid wine would technically be organic, and whether you'd need special permits to import it across dimensional boundaries. A monument to our collective need to make everything — even our monster myths — a little more bougie.
